On the Acura front, we have several new models announced at the Detroit Auto
Show that will be coming in the near future. The all new NSX ultra sports car
will be making a comeback, a completely redesigned RDX will be here in March and
an all new sedan, ILX, will be coming in June that will be an entry level
vehicle and price considerably lower than the TSX. TSX and the TSX wagon are
still our best seller and gets rave reviews from our customers.
I am
very happy to announce that Delray Acura & Delray Hyundai is the proud
sponsor of the Boca Raton Festival of the Arts and the grand Marshall of the
First St. Patrick's Day parade in Boca Raton. I will have more details in the
coming weeks, but it is an exciting event and we are very happy to be part of
it.
Finally, I want to congratulate our Hyundai sales team and "Thank
You", our customers making us the #1 Dealer in Customer Satisfaction in the
Nation for 2011. We will do our best to earn and maintain your confidence and
satisfaction in us!
I would also like to thank my service department
and you our customers for rating us the best service department in our
districts. It is due to the hard work and dedication of our service
professionals that has allowed us, on almost all occasions; to fix your vehicles
right the first time that has set us apart. Again Thanks for making 2011 a
great year. I know you have a choice on which dealership you do business with
and we appreciate you picking us, we will do everything we can not to disappoint
you and look forward to having a long and happy relationship as your automobile
dealer.
God Bless,
Jim & Kevin O'Neill
ACURA NEWS:
Acura NSX hits home run at Detroit
show
DETROIT ? Don't let any of the boosterism produced by the local
media fool you: the North American International Auto Show ain't what it used to
be. Not only have the hometown automakers ? Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors ?
cut back on the number of show cars and Las Vegas-style presentations compared
with previous years, but brands that really should show up to get car lovers'
hearts pumping ? Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Jaguar,
Rolls-Royce ? continue to be absent from what continues to be billed as an
"international" show.Of course, fewer participants means more media
attention for the automakers that have new concepts, like Japan's struggling
pair of luxury brands, Toyota's Lexus and Honda's Acura. Mainly due to the lack
of official information released beforehand, and the cult-like status of its
predecessor, the concept for the reincarnation of the Acura NSX super car is
arguably the hit of this year's show. It also represents the tip of a host of
new engineering and technologies that will also appear in future Acuras and
Hondas.
Like the 1990 to 2005 original, the new NSX is a two-door with only two seats, has a V6 engine in the middle of its chassis, and is wrapped in low-slung bodywork, reminiscent of cars from the absent Italian exotic brands. However, unlike the rear-wheel-drive, Japanese-built original, the new NSX ? which Honda promises will be on sale "within three years" ? will be all-wheel-drive, built in the U.S., and may have as much as 400 horsepower (or more!).
The new-age NSX will also have its direct-injected gas-V6 aided by one electric motor built into its dual-clutch automatic transmission and a pair of e-motors that direct torque to the outside front wheel and negative torque to the inside front wheel during cornering.
HYUNDAI NEWS:
2012 Hyundai
Azera
Written by: Erick Ayapana
Hyundai has been on a roll lately and much of its success is no doubt linked to bold styling and improved interiors. The work, however, isn't done. Among the few Hyundai models last to report to the makeup room is the 2012 Azera, which made its North American debut at last month's Los Angeles auto show. By most accounts, the current 2011 Hyundai Azera isn't a bad-looking car, but its appearance is about as appetizing as cold oatmeal when compared to the updated model, which is yet another dramatic display of Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture design language. The Sonata was one of the first vehicles to receive the treatment and it has translated quite nicely on the 2012 Azera. Perhaps the biggest change happens up front where the Azera's front fascia mimics the Sonata's chrome, waterfall grille and dual character lines centered in the middle of the hood. Compared to the previous Azera, the headlamp housing is much more detailed and includes a fiber-optic strip, similar to the Genesis sedan. Gone are the 2011 Azera's round and awkward foglamps, which have been replaced with sculpted units that follow the lines from the headlights.
The view from the side is also night and day. There's no question that the 2011 Azera is decidedly conservative and flat, while 2012 model is distinctive and bold with multi-leveled character lines. The first line starts from the front fender and disappears in the middle of the rear door, while the second line begins from the top of the trunk and also ends at the rear door. The profile also sports a unique beltline with an upward kink that follows the rear character line. The rear end is rather evolutionary, which isn't a bad thing since it was arguably the most distinctive design feature of the 2011 Azera. The overall look is tighter and cleaner, with LED taillamps that are connected with a red strip with the Azera name. Like the foglights up front, the new trapezoidal exhaust tips take their shape from the taillights, giving the rear end a much more solid and cohesive appearance.
Finally, Hyundai has placed a lot of effort on the interior, with an overall look similar to the Sonata. The previous interior was OK, but the 2012 Azera ups the luxury factor with perforated leather seats, crisp instrument gauges, and a sculpted center stack. Especially cool are the ambient LED strips located underneath the dashboard and door panel split.
